There's a New Community in Lopez Village
Phase 1
Village North marks the beginning of a three-phase development that will ultimately bring up to 45 affordable homes to Lopez Island.
Now home to 15 households, Village North provides stable, long-term rentals for individuals and families who are part of the heart of this community. It stands as a living example of the Housing Lopez mission—to create lasting, local solutions that keep our island strong, diverse, and connected.

Details About the Units
The factory-built modular fabrication by Method Homes provides a well-built home. Design includes well insulated sustainable home with triple pane windows, engineered wood floors, custom cabinetry, energy efficient appliances.
All other units are adaptable to meet most ADA accessibility and support requirements.

Twelve one-bedroom units ranging from 520 to 590 sf renting from $840 per month including water, sewer, garbage, recycling, and electric.

Nine units have restrictions and can only be rented to seniors, disabled individuals or transitionally unhoused people.

All fifteen units follow several Universal Design approaches to promote safety and create spaces that allow for human error including:
- Slip-resistant flooring in the common spaces, frequently used pathways, units, and entryways (designed for wheelchairs and walkers, dementia, age-in-place).
- Backing for grab bars to provide extra support in all full bathrooms, including in the shower, and in bedrooms and other areas where they would provide assistance.
- Backing for thermostatic or anti-scald control faucets useful for hearing impaired, dementia, vision impaired residents.
- Install at least one grab bar in every unit at the shower and toilet.
- Showers with removable thresholds if a wheelchair is needed.
