Melora Hiller
Melora Hiller, Director, member of the Fundraising and Marketing and Communications Committees, has over 30 years of experience working in affordable housing and community development in a variety of settings. At King County, Melora was responsible for preparing housing needs assessments and housing plans required for federal funding. She also designed a rental assistance program for homeless persons with disabilities in collaboration with local service providers and secured $12.6 million in federal funds for the program.
At Impact Capital, Melora managed the agency’s statewide capacity-building programs for housing and community development organizations, including: designing and implementing a technical and organizational development training program for professional staff and board members; overseeing investments in organizational core support for 15 nonprofits; brokering technical assistance capacity grants through an assessment and joint problem-solving approach and referral to appropriate technical consultants.
Melora spent 10 years consulting independently with affordable housing nonprofits, housing authorities, foundations and local governments in areas related to organizational development, capacity building, strategic planning, and program development. Melora Hiller recently retired as the chief executive officer of Grounded Solutions Network whose 200+ member organizations provide permanently affordable access to land, homes, and community assets. Melora oversaw 20+ staff and raised over $4m annually from major foundations and corporate sponsors.
