Bill Johnson, Board of Directors, Site Acquisition Committee

Bill’s background is in retail sales, distribution and project management. Bill worked for seventeen years for Olympic Boat Centers, the world’s largest recreational boat dealership in the Seattle area. He started in sales and became the company’s first Parts Manager, then on to the position of General Parts & Service Manager of seven locations. In his early thirties he was the General Manager of the flagship #1 store managing a ten million dollar a year budget. He then set up from scratch the Force Outboard distributorship in Kent as the General Manager. He was Inventory Control Manager for seventeen locations in Washington, California and Minnesota and finally as the General Manger of the Spokane location. Bill became a real estate agent for John L Scott in the Kent in the late nineties and renewed his license on Lopez Island as a Broker for Lopez Village Properties. His seasonal job for the last thirteen seasons is managing the care and annual sale of 300,000 Christmas trees at The Home Depots in Southern California for the Oregon based, Holiday Tree Farms. Bill worked for Sunset Builders Supply for over eight years before going full time in real estate in 2019. In addition to his experience in the business world, he is a guitarist, composer, music instructor, event organizer, wedding DJ, artist, actor, photographer, gardener and recently an author of a memoir. Bill has been a volunteer on Lopez Island over the ten years that he and his wife have lived here. He is in his third year on the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce. Bill has been married to Karen for 27 years and is a stepfather to five adults and a grandfather to their five children.
