Barbara Schultheiss

Barbara Schultheiss, Secretary, Member of Executive, Fundraising, and Project Management/Resident Development Committees, has more than 35 years of experience with strategic planning, operations, new program development and fund raising for social service agencies. She has written and received over $8 million in grants for a wide variety of community projects.

 

Barbara is currently the Executive Director of the Lopez Island Family Resource Center (LIFRC) where she is responsible for overseeing the following key community programs:

 

BuildingResilience(support and case management for basic social emotional/ needs); Create Opportunities(services for learning opportunities and youth development) and Advocacy Initiatives. This work has given her a deep understanding of the dire impact that a shortage of rental housing has had on the Lopez community.

 

Prior to joining LIFRC, Barbara served in numerous health care and social service positions including: Program Director, Natural Leaders and Readiness to Learn Programs, Washington Alliance for Better Schools, Director of Evaluation, Wellspring Family Services in Seattle, Associate Director, Worcester Area Systems for Affordable Health Care and Health Program Planner, Department of Public Health, San Francisco.

 

Barbara has been a full-time resident of Lopez Island for four years.
