Our Mission
Housing Lopez is a community-driven nonprofit organization committed to addressing the critical need for affordable rental housing on Lopez Island.
We believe everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home. Through a commitment to equity, sustainability, and community support, we work to develop and sustain high-quality rental housing that is both affordable and accessible to the individuals and families that make up our community.

To foster a vibrant, inclusive housing ecosystem on Lopez Island that addresses the evolving needs of the community, supports a resilient economy, and ensures access to secure, affordable homes for individuals and families of all backgrounds that are free from the burden of housing insecurity.
Our Achievements
Housing Lopez emerged from a grassroots initiative aimed at addressing the rental housing shortage on Lopez Island. Recognizing that existing efforts primarily focused on homeownership, a group of local community leaders, real estate professionals, construction experts, and finance specialists united to tackle the rental housing crisis. This collaboration led to the establishment of Housing Lopez, Inc., which received its nonprofit status on October 18, 2018.
Completed in November 2021, this project comprises six environmentally friendly, two-bedroom homes that blend seamlessly into the village fabric.
Started in 2024, the first three-phase plan of 15 housing units was completed September 30, 2025.
